An article on "Your 3 Month Old Baby"

This article is more for the new mom's and expecting mom's. To give you some insight on some of the earlier stages of development. I feel that this was pretty true to form when it came to Allen. Enjoy reading:

By: Natural Mom's Business Guide

Your 3 month old baby is such a sweet bundle of joy! This is a wonderful age and parenting is a delight. Your baby is waking up to the world around him and coming out of the sleepy fog he was in as a newborn. You're discovering little facets of his personality and he's charming everyone he meets.

Physical Development

Your baby is getting a bit more organized with his movements, although it will still be some time before he's able to control his hands well. You might notice him grasping at things that you have in your hands while you hold him. He's getting so very interested in the world around him! He no longer gets so fatigued from stimulation, and loves to see new things. He's likely smiling and laughing out loud now, especially at his parents and siblings if he has them. He will giggle and clasp his hands together in an expression of delight. He loves how this makes you smile, and is learning important social skills, the give-and-take of relationships.

His nervous system is still somewhat immature however, and you may notice that he still "jumps" and startles if he feels insecure (like if you are carrying him and suddenly squat down). The newborn reflexes are still present at this age.

Baby can hold his head up for long periods now, and he can lift his head quite well when he's on his belly. It's a good idea to let him have some "tummy time" daily to exercise. If he's not wild about this, try kneeling down to his level and talking to him or showing him a colorful toy.

Feeding

If you're nursing, you've probably overcome those challenges of the first few weeks and it's smooth sailing. Your baby may look up at you and stop feeding to flash you a big, toothless grin and it just melts your heart. Baby has probably settled into a (somewhat!) predictable nursing routine now so you know what to expect. Look for the growth spurt that is common at this age. Your baby's digestive system is still not ready for solid foods, so your best bet is to spend 2 or 3 days nursing your baby as much as he wants to, and your body will respond by increasing your milk supply. Getting some extra rest during this time will also help.

Keeping Baby Entertained

It doesn't take an awful lot to keep baby interested at this age, and you don't have to worry about him discovering the outlets yet! Just realize that baby is learning new things constantly, such as how to roll off the bed! Be careful when you lay him down on a flat surface. Keep a hand on him constantly.

Most of all baby loves seeing your face and hearing you talk to him. He can even mimic your facial expressions. So sing to him, smile at him, talk with him, and read books out loud to him. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that you read daily with your baby when he's 6 months of age, but why not get in the habit now? Baby will love it!

Babies this age also love being carried in a sling or other soft cloth carrier so they can explore their new environment and stay close to your body.

Sleeping

Your 3 month old may or may not be sleeping through the night now. Don't be tempted to give him solid foods too early in order to get him to sleep through the night. Studies show that it doesn't work. Sleeping through the night is a developmental milestone and every baby is different.

Enjoy this precious time in your baby's life!

First Very Baby Hybrid

Ok, I have finally started to take the plunge back into the Very Baby World. I was offered a Life Time Contract so I took it. I went and put together a Large Very Baby Hybrid AIO. This diaper was fun to sew. I will be having my heavy wetter take it for a test drive once I get it washed. It will actually probably need several washes before it will not wick. I have learned 4 to 5 washes before you can really judge a new ALL In One.

The diaper here is made of bamboo french terry and I am thinking at least at first I will only be making cotton birds eye and bamboo french terry versions of this diaper. This way they stay nice and trim.

I still need to work on other sizes. I do intend on offering these, maybe by this sumer, as custom orders. I still have some PUL in solid and prints left, now the selection will be limited for a while. I do not intend on adding any new PUL colors until I have used up some of my old stuff.

Well here is a preview of what is to come.

Very Baby hybrid Diaper

I will share more once I get around to making more.

Have a great day,

Susan

I am actually finding a love of prefolds

Ok I never thought I would ever use prefolds. I was wrong. I love love diaper cover wraps. I have been taking a few prefold diapers and folding them into 3Rd's and laying them in the diaper cover wraps and wrapping them on.

They fit Allen great the prefolds with a doubler work well on my heavy wetter and I have a fun inexpensive way to cloth diaper.

You can find embellished and hand dyed prefolds to make things interesting. Also the PUL wraps can be found in lots of colors and prints. My son is currently started to out grow his size larges and I am very torn with having to replace his fitted stash with XL's considering he is over 2 and may, or may not potty learn soon.

I think I have found my alternative and it will not cost as much. Considering Prefolds are about 1.75 to 7 depending on what you get. I will probably never use a Snappi or diaper pins but I love the wrap idea with the prefolds. So I will have to show you my progress. Most likely I will make him Very Baby Snug Wraps and or Diaper Kit Wraps. I have tons of pul so it just makes sense.

You can find some nice prefolds at Monkey Toe Diapers

Coming soon Very Baby Custom Snug Wraps or Semi Custom MTD Wraps(Diaper Kit Wraps)

I will post pictures soon of what I am doing.

Have a great day and I will talk to you soon,

Susan

Some minor changes

Ok I have done it I upgraded my PayPal Account so that I can accept credit cards directly at www.monkeytoediapers.com.

I am currently working on sewing together some AIO diaper kits I picked from www.diaperkits.com. These AIO's are really great. I will be having some Cotton Flannel. Bamboo Fleece and Organic Hemp French Terry AIO's. I really have been having some fun embroidering on them and I really like to stitch them together. I will be stocking them soon for purchase. These will be Monkey Toe Diapers AIO's or MTD AIO'S. I have been very happy with how they fit Allen and I have some testers already lined up I just am waiting on the kits they ordered to get here so I can stitch them together and get them out to them.

Also no news on my Serger. So I do not know yet when I will reopen custom orders.

A few Biz updates

OK

Customs are closed and I am not sure when they will reopen. My serger was dropped off today and it will be anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks before I see it back. So, as soon as I get more of a definite time line I will let you know.

I made my first Bumkins Order today. I am looking forward to stocking these products. Their prints, I think are really cute and they look like a fun diapering product to use. If you want to see what they have you can go to http://www.bumkins.com/index.asp

I am at this time only approved for a diaper reseller but I might look into the other lines they have for further down the road. I ordered AIO's, Diaper Covers, Night Time Pull On's and doublers. I can not wait to stock these items.

Have a great day,
Susan Mraz

This is an article I found and can relate too. We adopted our lovable dog.

How Having A Pet Can Benefit Your Family

Surely you have heard the old saying, “A man’s best friend is his dog.” Well, not only does this hold true for man, but for a family as well. Let’s explore how having a pet can benefit your family.

Remember back to when you were a child, and your parents took you to the local pound and you picked out your first pet. How did you feel? Exhilarated; excited, and when the dog licked your face and stuck out his paw; he touched your heart, didn’'t he? This is no less true for families today. True, having a pet may start out as a gift for the kids who have been nagging you for months. But the truth is the pet is welcome by you and your spouse as well.

Pets give unconditional love; always. They trust you’ll take care of them at every turn, and they take care of you. After a long day at work, you come home to find your pet waiting for you at the front door; excitedly jumping up and down at your arrival. They are a comfort to kids when sick; and to the old when informed. Some dogs even have a sixth sense when you are ill and unaware of the problem. They can sense danger; and guard you and your family when necessary. They instinctively know when they’'ve been naughty, and look to you for forgiveness. They comfort you in time of need like no other human. They can sense sadness and, when you pass, they mourn.

There are so many pets that need love and attention. Unfortunately, all too soon pets arrive at home only to find they are neglected or mistreated. How sad for the rest of us.
If you have the room and the time, why not consider adopting a pet. There are so many animals out there who will be put to sleep unless we afford them the opportunity to live in a home with a loving family. They ask nothing, but give so much.
