Updates

Hi there

Just a few things I would blog about.

  1. Monkey Toe Diapers is choosing to discontinue all Swaddlebees
Products. I choosing to do this to free up space for some
new diapers I want to carry. I will be adding more Baby Beehinds
as soon as they are available. I am looking to add Kushies and
Baby Kanga's to the store soon.

  2. I am in the middle of getting a separate shopping cart set up for
wholesale purchasing for Sugar Plum Baby diapers. Once this
happens I will be setting up a Bulk Discount based on price. More about that in the near
    future.

  3. Custom order status:
    • currently on the cutting and sewing
      table is Jennifer Chartrand's order

      • Kathleen M. Gardner 's order To be worked soon
      • Granola Babies' order Just received

    • 5 Items to make

  • About 7 days to ship to you from the day you ordered.
Most likely less but Allen my 2.5 year old is potty learning so there
    is some distractions.

Ok I guess there is some confusion

I am writing this blog entry as a thank you for your advise and I am sorry to confuse you kind of post.

I just have to say I am not a person all about the organics. I do like using cloth diapers, how ever I do use a lot of non-organic cloth diapers and sell a lot of non-organic cloth diapers.

Also the Organic Food choices I am trying to make are for 2 reasons 1. I am an over weight mom who needs to loose weight and I am trying a new eating life style that takes me away from processed foods to more organic and natural foods. 2. My mother is now eating a special diet that requires her to eat a lot of organic foods. She is doing this for health reasons. I am wanting to be a healthy mom.

My view on trying to make the future better for my son is to recycle and reuse. I have even started to use reusable bags for when I grocery shop. I just really have a hard time spending 3 times as much money on fruits and veggies for organic verses non-organics. My mother has given me a way to get fruit and veggies really good and washed, that gets the chemicals off. She soaks them in water and vinegar and then rinses them really well. Just a little tid bit.

I am actually just selling Mary Kay because (I do truly love there products and they do try to get a good balance of chemicals and botanicals in them to give you the best skin care possible.) I want the discount for myself. Mary Kay is the first skin care system I have used where I have seen results and it does not burn your skin. So many I have used organic and non-organic has my face looking red.

I do appreciate the advice that was given to promote to Mom's Groups and clubs. I just have to figure out how to find them in the Penfield/Rochester area.

Once again I am sorry if I am confusing you on my business choices. Monkey Toe Diapers will always be my top priority as far as businesses go. Mary Kay is my fun hobby, into color cosmetics and skin care. I love what I have learned as far as keeping myself looking better. Turning 35 was easier on me then 34 and I hate to say it, but it is because I am making my skin and face look better.

Ok I will stop going off on a tangent and wish you all a great day and more blog entries to come.

Getting Started On Organic Foods – The Basics

Organic foods and products are becoming more and more popular, but if you don’t know a lot about organic food; you probably don’t realize why they’re worth spending the extra money on. Here’s some information that will hopefully help you make the healthy switch to organics.

With most foods, producers must list their ingredients, but you’re left on the dark on how those ingredients are grown and processed. With certified organic food, you know exactly how the food was grown, processed, and that all the ingredients contained are natural and virtually free of harmful chemicals. With organics, you can feel assured that your family is getting healthy, quality products.

One of the most publicized benefits of eating organic food is that it’s grown free of pesticides, herbicides, unnatural fertilizers and other potentially harmful chemicals. If produce is grown using these chemicals, they remain present in the plant and can be found in your body if you eat them. These are chemicals that, since being approved for widespread use, have been linked to cancer, heart disease, and other life threatening illnesses. Chemical buildup in you body can also cause you to store fat more easily and metabolize food less efficiently.

While many people focus on the benefits and decreased risk of eating organic produce, they often neglect organic meat and dairy products. In order to increase milk production, many dairy cows are given a bovine growth hormone. This is passed into the milk you drink and may cause an increase in cancers. These hormones may also cause infections that can also be carried with the milk if it isn’t properly treated. Harmful hormones are also given to beef cattle to increase their size. These hormones are not allowed in the production of organic beef and dairy products.

An additional benefit of organic food is that it contains more vitamins and nutrients than traditionally grown plants. These nutrients have been known to prevent heart disease, prevent cancer, build strong bones, treat PMS and depression, and even help prevent you from dying during a heart attack. These beneficial materials help keep you feeling better and keep you from getting sick less often. They also help your system function more efficiently; just as decreased chemicals do. A more efficient system means you have more energy to get up move and face your day.

Eating organic products is beneficial to help keep your body in working order, but it’s even more important for the health of your children. To aid in growth, children eat more pound for pound than adults do. That means they’re taking in a lot more of these chemicals. These chemicals also can have more toxic affects on children when present in the same concentrations as in adults. That’s why it’s important to monitor what your children eat and make sure it contains lots of healthy, safe organic foods.

Not too long ago, you had to travel all around town just to get a few organic vegetables. Now you cannot only find organic vegetables at grocery stores, but also organic meats, pastas, and even deodorant. If you shop around, you may also be able to find these products at reasonable prices as well. This means that you have no more excuses to put off eating healthier organic foods today. So get out there and start your new healthy life.
